Kinnan Sig-lapp

Class: Jedi Knight (Guardian)
Race: Human (Cyborg)
Age: ~56
Alignment: Light
Crew Skill: Synthweaving
Character Concept:
A Jedi Master who is a scientist first and a Jedi warrior second
Important Relationships:
- Dianiss (See below)

Master Kinnan Sig-lapp is a Jedi Master and a member of the Jedi Council of First Knowledge. He considers himself more of a scientist than a warrior, and has spent most of his life researching the Emperor and how he could be defeated.

He lost his eyes in an accident involving a Sith Artifact that blinded him. He has since adopted the use of cybernetic occular implants to replace them, along with a few other technical measures that help him with his scientific observations. They also give him a series of technical abilities that he uses on the occasional times that he works with the SIS (that is, those occasions where his post on the Council of First Knowledge and the need for intelligence-gathering intersect).

Kinnan is a featured character in Power and Betrayal, my second story (where he has recruited Dianiss to help him with his research), and more of his past and biography will be covered there.

Origin of the name:
The origin of his name is actually a part of the Power and Betrayal story, and will be covered there.
Origin of the Costume:
Nothing special here, actually. I just wanted him to look like a Jedi but not wearing the full-length robes. I have him in the Humble Hero set because--outside of a white labcoat look--it's just the thing for him.
Trivia:
  • In truth, I created Kinnan as a utility character to be a 450 Synthweaver, taking over that job from Dianiss. This freed her up to be converted to Biochem so that she can use reusable stims/adrenals/medpacks.
  • Because he was primarily intended to be a Synthweaver, that's why I made him a Jedi Knight. Kira Carsen, the first companion, is a +5 Critical to Synthweaving (plus there is a +5 Crit Legacy sensor for C2-N2).
  • Of course, today that means nothing since the companions are all the same!
  • Kinnan sat at Level 21 for a long time and I once even thought he'd stay there indefinitely. I leveled him half-way through Chapter 1, just far enough that I could open up the series of conversations with Kira Carsen about her past and boost her affection to 10,000 more easily.
  • I did level him up to max level eventually because I found that it was sometimes awkward for a crafter to be too low a level to handle some of the things he himself crafts.
  • The Jedi Council of First Knowledge is one of four Councils of the Jedi Order, charged with accumulating and preserving knowledge for the good of all civilization. The other three Councils are the High Council (overall leadership of the Jedi Order), the Reassignment Council ("job placement" for all Jedi), and the Council of Reconciliation (diplomacy and negotiation).
